Unit of Measure

Neptune® 360™ currently supports five units of measure (UOMClosed Unit of Measure.):

  • Cubit feet.
  • Cubic meters (metres).
  • Gallons (U.S.).
  • Imperial gallons.
  • Liters (litres).

The system also supports the following pressure and temperature units of measure for meters that have this reading capability:

  • Temperature

    • Fahrenheit.

    • Celsius.

Important! The Neptune 360 NUFF file and the File Mapper allows up to eight alphanumeric characters for the UOM; the v4/v2 file allows three characters for the UOM.

The following table defines alternate and short names that Neptune 360 accepts for each UOM.

Cubic feet FT3 CCF, CCF 1, CF, CF3, Cu Ft, Cu. Ft. (with periods), F3, F^3 CCF is an abbreviation for centum cubic feet, which is one-hundred cubic feet.
Cubic meters (metres) M3(2) CCM, CM, CM3, CM32, Cu M, Cu. M. (with periods), kl, M^3, M3 M3 is the preferred alternate short name as is more closely matches the display on the meter face, and it avoids confusion with both cubic centimeters and centimeters.
Gallons (U.S.) GAL G, Gal, GL, USG
Imperial Gallons IPG galUK, IG, Imp Gal, Imp. Gal. (with periods)
Liters (litres) LTR DM3, Il, L, LT, ltr Neptune uses this UOM infrequently. The MACH 10® can be configured for liters, kiloliters
(kl or kL, which is the same as cubic meters) and for acre-feet (ac-ft).
